The world of baby modeling can be fun, dynamic and an excellent way for you to start putting some money aside for your child’s future. However, the key to achieving this goal starts with the baby modeling agency that you use. A good agency will provide your child with a pretty steady rate of work and ensure that your baby is both safe and looked after well. A bad one can rip you off financially and a lot worse.
So how do you find the right agency? Here are my top three methods:
1. Apply to reputable baby and parenting magazines directly. Some of these will be able to provide work straight off, but usually they will be able to refer you to the agencies that they use for any modeling work. This is an excellent resource as you not only find a reputable agency but you can also ensure that they are doing work with at least one of the top selling magazine. Who knows your child could be the next cover model!
2. Check out the magazines themselves. Many magazines have credits to agencies that you can use to create a contact list.
3. By referral. Ask your friends and family if they know anyone that is already in the industry and can give you a reccomendation. Gaining advice from someone you know and trust will give you confidence in the agency and also tell you how much work and pay you may expect to recieve. It is also more likely to provide an agency that is local and easier to reach.
Once you have found a couple of agencies that sound like a good fit make sure you ask to see samples of their work and enquire about which publications that they are often published. This will give you an indication of their status as well as the amount of work that this agency is getting. Both of which are important.
Remember, the baby modeling agency that you use to promote your child will have a HUGE impact on how successful they are going forward. So make sure you do your homework and find an agency that is a perfect fit for you and your family.
