While it is definitely not necessary to create any baby model portfolios at the outset and for auditions, it is still a good idea to document your childs career path, previous work and campaigns.
These photos wil
l show a future photographer how pliable your child is, and if they have been used in the final cut of the shoot then it also indicates that you have a child with the right temperament for modeling. This actually surprised me at first, but you will find that in many photo shoots that are conducted with babies that your cherub will not be the only baby there for the role, and that in fact there may be multiples all for the same role. Don’t worry about the financial side as you will be paid regardless, but take note that only the best photographs will be used. So if your baby acts up or does not shoot that well, while you will be paid you will not end up with any usable photographs.
